NDMA Warns of Rain, Snowfall Across Pakistan

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide weather alert warning of rain and snowfall in multiple regions during the next 12 to 24 hours.

According to an NDMA spokesperson, snowfall is expected in mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and northern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a strong weather system moves in.

Rain accompanied by hailstorms may affect several areas of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising concerns about travel disruptions and local weather hazards.

The forecast predicts rainfall and hail in Islamabad and central and southern Punjab, while Karachi, interior Sindh, and Quetta are likely to experience scattered showers.

Widespread rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and surrounding districts from April 6 to April 9.

NDMA has warned that slippery roads and reduced visibility may disrupt traffic, urging citizens and travelers to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines during the weather spell.
