The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken disciplinary action after issuing an official sanction in the Pakistan Super League. Fast bowling all-rounder Jahandad Khan fined for violating the Code of Conduct during a recent match.
The incident took place during Quetta Gladiators’ match against Rawalpindi on Friday night at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. Match officials reported the breach during a tense moment in the game.
According to PCB details, Jahandad Khan fined under a Level 1 offence of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct. The violation falls under Article 2.5, which relates to inappropriate language, actions, or gestures toward a batter after dismissal.
Officials stated that the behavior could provoke an aggressive reaction from the dismissed player. The on-field umpires, Sharafuddoula and Imran Jawed, reported the incident immediately after it occurred.
The situation developed during the second ball of the 18th over in the chasing innings. Jahandad dismissed batter Saad Masood and was later found to have acted in a manner that breached PSL rules.
Following the charge, Jahandad Khan fined after he accepted responsibility for the incident. He pleaded guilty to the offence and agreed to the sanction without dispute.
The case was reviewed by match referee Roshan Mahanama, who confirmed the penalty. PCB officials said the decision reflects the league’s strict stance on maintaining discipline and fair play.
The PCB emphasized that all players are expected to follow professional conduct standards. Any breach, even at a minor level, is taken seriously to protect the spirit of the game.
This incident adds to ongoing efforts by the league to enforce discipline among players. Officials continue to monitor on-field behavior closely throughout the tournament.
With Jahandad Khan fined, the PCB has once again reminded players to respect match regulations. The board stated that maintaining sportsmanship remains a top priority in the PSL.
