Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be accompanied by senior officials. These include Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb may also join the delegation. His participation depends on his return from an official visit to the United States.
Officials said the upcoming visit Saudi Arabia reflects strong diplomatic engagement between the two countries. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to maintain close political and economic ties.
The announcement comes shortly after lengthy negotiations in Islamabad involving US and Iranian delegations. Those talks ended without a final agreement after nearly 21 hours of discussions.
A US delegation led by Vice President J. D. Vance also left without securing a deal. Both sides later exchanged statements, indicating ongoing disagreements and lack of trust.
Former US President Donald Trump said some progress was made during the talks. However, he noted that key issues, especially Iran’s nuclear programme, remain unresolved.
He further stated that Iran’s nuclear ambitions are a major concern. According to him, this remains the biggest obstacle in reaching a lasting agreement.
As regional diplomacy continues to evolve, the upcoming visit Saudi Arabia is expected to play an important role in strengthening political and economic coordination.
