The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch a new internship program for BS students aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and practical workplace experience.
The initiative was discussed during a briefing given to Provincial Minister for Education Meena Khan Afridi on the Ehsaas Internship Program framework.
Under the proposed plan, students will be placed in internships for a duration ranging from two to six months, depending on departmental requirements and academic relevance.
Participants in the program will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000, providing financial support while they gain professional experience.
Officials stated that eligibility criteria include a minimum CGPA of 3.0, ensuring that only academically strong students are selected for the initiative.
Students from universities and degree colleges across the province will be eligible to apply, making the program widely accessible across the education sector.
To ensure smooth implementation, coordination offices will be established in universities and colleges to manage applications and placement procedures.
The initiative is part of broader efforts by the provincial government to improve youth employment readiness and strengthen skills development.
Authorities believe the program will help students transition more effectively from education to professional careers by giving them real-world exposure.
