Eligibility and Criteria for Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme 2026 Are Explained

The Punjab government has launched the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” programme to support farmers. This Rozgar Scheme aims to provide agricultural land to landless individuals at a very low cost.

Under this initiative, around 50,000 farmers will receive land on lease. The annual rent has been set at just Rs100 per acre. Officials say this step will help increase farming activity across the province.

The Rozgar Scheme is designed for people who do not own agricultural land. It focuses on creating employment opportunities in rural areas. Authorities believe it will also strengthen the agriculture sector.

To apply for the Rozgar Scheme, applicants must meet certain conditions. They should be landless or own only a small residential plot of up to 10 marlas. They must also be permanent residents of the same area where the land is located.

Only one member from each family can apply. People who have already received land under any government scheme are not eligible. Government employees and their dependents are also excluded from the program.

Applicants can submit their forms online through the Punjab Enterprise Land Record Authority (PELRA) website. They can also apply manually at the office of the Assistant Commissioner. The application process will begin after the official schedule is announced.

Once applications are received, a scrutiny committee will review them. After approval by the district collector, a list of eligible candidates will be published. The names will also be displayed at relevant offices.

The selection process will be conducted through computerized balloting. This ensures transparency and fairness. Successful applicants will receive official allotment orders after final approval.

The lease period for the land is set at 10 years. Farmers must pay the first year’s rent within 30 days of receiving possession. Future payments must be made every year before January 15.

The land must only be used for farming purposes. Construction of permanent buildings is not allowed. Ownership of the land will remain with the government at all times.

Authorities will regularly inspect the land to ensure rules are followed. Any violation of terms may lead to cancellation of the lease.
