Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier Flyadeal has announced that it will temporarily stop flights to Pakistan, Amman, and Damascus. The decision will remain in effect until May 31, 2026.
The sudden announcement has created concern among passengers who regularly use these routes for affordable travel. Many travelers rely on the airline for work-related trips, family visits, and religious journeys.
In an official statement issued on May 5, the company confirmed that the Airline Suspends operations to the three destinations as part of internal operational adjustments. However, the airline did not provide detailed reasons behind the decision.
The lack of explanation has led to questions from passengers and travel industry stakeholders. Many people are seeking clarity about why the Airline Suspends services on these important regional routes.
Flyadeal said affected passengers would receive support through refunds or rebooking options, depending on ticket eligibility and booking conditions. The airline advised customers to regularly check its official website and mobile application for updates.
Travelers were also encouraged to follow Flyadeal’s verified social media accounts for the latest announcements regarding flight schedules and customer assistance.
The suspension is especially significant for Pakistan because air travel between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia remains one of the busiest international travel corridors in the region. Millions of passengers travel between the two countries every year.
The strong travel demand is mainly linked to labor migration, religious travel, and family connections. Saudi Arabia hosts around 2.6 million Pakistani workers, making it one of the largest overseas destinations for Pakistanis.
Many Pakistanis also travel to Saudi Arabia throughout the year for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. Major Pakistani cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar, are directly connected to Saudi cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.
Flights on these routes usually take between three and a half to five hours. Budget airlines are often preferred by travelers looking for affordable ticket options.
Industry experts believe the route suspension could temporarily affect travel convenience for thousands of passengers. However, no information has been provided regarding whether the suspension could end earlier than the announced date.
The latest development comes at a time when airlines worldwide are making operational changes due to economic pressures, route evaluations, and changing passenger demand.
