Punjab Launches New Facility To Simplify Marriage Certificate Process Across E-Service Centers

Punjab Launches New Facility To Simplify Marriage Certificate Process Across E-Service Centers

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has introduced a new facility to help citizens obtain marriage certificates more easily. This new facility is designed to reduce delays and simplify registration procedures for married couples across Punjab.

The service is now available at 15 designated e-Services centers in the province. These centers operate daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The goal of this new facility is to make the marriage registration process faster and more accessible for the public.

Under this system, citizens can register their marriages without facing complicated paperwork or unnecessary visits. Previously, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) guided people to complete the process through union councils. However, this new facility now provides a more streamlined and efficient option for applicants.

Marriage registration is still mandatory for all married couples at their respective union councils. The updated system supports legal registration while improving service delivery through digital assistance and verification.

To apply for a marriage certificate, applicants must provide several required documents. These include the Nikah Nama (marriage contract), copies of CNICs of both husband and wife, CNICs of their parents, and CNICs of the marriage witnesses. These documents are essential for verification under the new facility system.

Once applicants visit an e-Service center, staff members check and verify the documents. After verification, the data is entered into the system. A printout is then provided for review and proofreading. Applicants must confirm the details before signing and resubmitting the form. The final marriage certificate is issued after this step.

This new facility also aligns with digital improvements introduced in other regions. In selected areas such as Chakwal, Nankana Sahib, Quetta, and Karachi East, citizens can access similar services through the NADRA Pak ID mobile application.

The introduction of this new facility is expected to reduce workload at traditional offices. It also aims to provide a more user-friendly experience for citizens seeking timely marriage registration services across Punjab.
