Bollywood actress Vidya Balan recently shared heartfelt memories of working with late actor Irrfan Khan. She reflected on their early collaboration and a long-delayed project that has now been released.
Vidya Balan posted clips from the film on her official Instagram account. She also wrote a detailed note recalling her experience while shooting The Last Tenant. The film was shot nearly 25 years ago but was never released at that time.
In her post, Vidya Balan mentioned that she watched the film for the first time recently. She said the project was completed long ago but remained unreleased for unknown reasons. The film has now been made available on YouTube.
The actress also opened up about a difficult phase in her early career. She shared that several of her projects did not move forward. She recalled how her Malayalam debut Chakram was shelved. She also said she was replaced in multiple films over a period of three years.
Despite these setbacks, Vidya Balan said she tried to move on from that phase. She admitted that she had pushed those memories aside for many years. However, she was reminded of the project after receiving a message from the director about its release.
Vidya Balan also spoke warmly about Irrfan Khan. She remembered calling her sister from the set, excited to work with him. She described him as a highly natural and effortless performer.
She added that she still feels the same admiration for Irrfan Khan’s acting. According to her, he never delivered a false or forced performance. His talent left a strong impression on her during the shoot.
Since his passing in 2020, Vidya Balan said she regrets not working with him in more films. She mentioned that several projects featuring both of them did not materialize over the years.
The actress concluded her tribute by expressing gratitude that The Last Tenant is now available to audiences. Vidya Balan described it as a special memory from her early career and a meaningful connection to Irrfan Khan’s legacy.
