Pakistan Armed Forces Parade Held at GHQ on First Anniversary of Marka-e-Haq

A grand ceremony was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq. Pakistan’s top military leadership attended the high-profile gathering on Saturday.

The event was led by Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. Senior military commanders and defence officials were also present during the ceremony.

The gathering commemorated the 19-day military confrontation between Pakistan and India that took place from April 22 to May 10, 2025. The period witnessed rising tensions between the two neighbouring countries.

According to Pakistani officials, the conflict escalated after what Islamabad described as an unprovoked Indian strike during the night of May 6 and 7. The incident followed tensions linked to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials stated that the situation quickly turned into an intense military standoff. The confrontation reportedly included aerial operations, drone activity, and troop deployments along border areas. International concern also grew due to fears of a wider regional conflict.

Pakistan has consistently maintained that its armed forces showed strong operational performance during the confrontation. Officials claimed that several Indian aircraft were downed during the conflict, including Rafale fighter jets. Pakistani authorities also stated that multiple drones were intercepted and destroyed.

The military escalation became one of the most closely watched developments in South Asia during 2025. Both countries remained engaged in active military and diplomatic exchanges throughout the crisis.

The tensions eventually eased on May 10 after a ceasefire agreement was reached. Reports suggested that diplomatic efforts by the United States played a role in reducing tensions between the two sides.

Since then, Pakistani authorities have presented Marka-e-Haq as a symbol of national unity, military preparedness, and strategic strength. Officials often describe the event as an important moment in reinforcing confidence in Pakistan’s defence capabilities.

The anniversary ceremony at GHQ was also viewed as a display of institutional solidarity. Tributes are expected to be paid to military personnel who participated in the confrontation.
