BISP 8171 May Payments Expected Before Eid, Latest Update Released

BISP 8171 May Payments Expected Before Eid, Latest Update Released

The government is preparing to release the next BISP installment from May 18, 2026, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. The financial support is expected to help millions of low-income families manage increased expenses during the festive season.

Officials said the latest payments under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will provide relief to households facing rising costs of food, electricity, petrol, and other daily necessities.

Authorities confirmed that payments will only be issued to families already verified and registered under the programme. The distribution process will take place nationwide through banks, campsites, and designated payment centres.

The government has also introduced special arrangements to make the payment process easier and more organized. Separate counters and facilities will be available for elderly citizens and women at payment centres to improve accessibility.

According to officials, the BISP system uses a detailed verification process to ensure assistance reaches deserving families. Eligibility is determined through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) survey and the Proxy Means Test (PMT) score.

Families with a PMT score of 32 or below qualify for assistance. Households with disabled family members may qualify with a score of up to 37. Payments are usually issued to the female head of the household holding a valid CNIC.

Widowed, divorced, and separated women are also given special consideration under the programme. Transgender individuals may qualify if their records and survey information are verified.

Beneficiaries can check their eligibility in different ways. Citizens can send their CNIC number without dashes to 8171 through SMS. They can also use the official 8171 web portal or visit the nearest BISP Tehsil Office.

Officials clarified that registration is carried out only through the NSER survey process. Applicants cannot complete full registration online. Families must either visit a BISP centre or wait for a survey team to collect information.

During registration, applicants are required to provide CNIC details and household information. After NADRA biometric verification, eligible families are enrolled in the programme.

Authorities warned citizens to avoid fake agents and confirmed that there are no registration fees for joining the programme.

Approved beneficiaries can receive payments through partner banks including HBL and Bank Alfalah. In some areas, payments are also available through ATMs, bank branches, EasyPaisa, JazzCash agents, and digital social protection systems.

Most payment methods require biometric thumb verification for security and transparency. Officials encouraged beneficiaries to keep their CNICs updated and carry relevant documents while visiting payment centres.
