Hyderabad Flyover Project Must Be Finished By July 2026, Says CM Sindh

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed authorities to immediately restart work on the long-delayed Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Flyover project in Hyderabad. The CM Sindh warned officials that no further delays would be accepted.

The instructions were issued during a high-level meeting held at the CM House. The session included senior ministers and top government officials from several departments.

During the meeting, the CM Sindh stressed that the flyover project must be completed by the first week of July 2026. He said he plans to personally inaugurate the bridge during his visit to Hyderabad.

Murad Ali Shah stated that he wants to drive across the flyover himself when it opens for public traffic. He directed the Planning and Development, Works, and Local Government departments to coordinate closely.

The CM Sindh also instructed ministers Nasir Hussain Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, and Haji Ali Hassan Zardari to jointly monitor the progress of the project. He said teamwork between departments is necessary for timely completion.

Officials informed the meeting that land acquisition for the project had already been completed in 2018. However, construction work faced delays due to legal disputes and administrative issues.

The flyover project was originally part of a federally funded road scheme. It was designed to connect Hyderabad Bypass with Ghangra Mori on the left bank of Akram Wah.

Authorities said several parts of the structure had already been completed. These include the casting of 24 bridge girders. Despite this progress, the flyover remains unfinished after years of delay.

The CM Sindh emphasized that Hyderabad urgently needs better traffic infrastructure. He said the project will help reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the city.

Murad Ali Shah further stated that all technical and financial obstacles must be resolved quickly. He instructed departments to ensure work resumes without any additional delay.

Minister Haji Ali Hassan Zardari assured the meeting that he would personally oversee the remaining construction work. He promised that the project would be completed within the deadline given by the CM Sindh.

The Hyderabad flyover project is considered one of the cityโ€™s major infrastructure developments. Residents have long awaited its completion due to increasing traffic pressure in the area.

With the latest directives from the CM Sindh, authorities are now expected to speed up construction efforts and complete the project before July 2026.
