Maryam Nawaz Distributes 720 Free Flats to Labourers, Widows and Differently-Abled Persons in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has distributed 720 residential flats among labourers, widows, and differently-abled persons under the provincial government’s housing and social support initiatives.

The distribution ceremony was held in Lahore, where the chief minister handed over flats to deserving families. The programme is part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to improve living conditions for low-income citizens through various Welfare Schemes.

During her address, Maryam Nawaz congratulated the beneficiaries and described home ownership as one of the greatest blessings in life. She said many families struggle for years to secure proper housing due to rising inflation and increasing construction costs.

The chief minister acknowledged that building a house has become difficult for ordinary citizens. She stated that the Punjab government is working to support labourers and underprivileged families through affordable housing programmes and public assistance projects.

Maryam Nawaz also announced that the provincial government would provide free land to citizens who do not own any property. She said the initiative aims to help deserving families achieve the dream of owning a home.

The Punjab government distributed the 720 flats under a major housing welfare programme focused on industrial workers and low-income groups. Officials said the flats were developed to provide safe and modern residential facilities to hardworking families across the province.

According to the government, the housing project is part of ongoing Welfare Schemes designed to improve labour welfare and strengthen social protection measures in Punjab. Authorities believe such programmes can reduce financial pressure on struggling families and improve their quality of life.

Officials added that the flats include essential facilities and are intended to create a better living environment for beneficiaries. Widows and differently-abled persons were also included in the programme to ensure equal access to housing opportunities.

The Punjab government has recently increased its focus on public relief projects, affordable housing, and citizen support programmes. These Welfare Schemes are being introduced to address economic challenges faced by low-income households.
