Pakistan Announce Squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

The Pakistan Cricket Board has made a key selection decision for upcoming women’s tournaments. Officials confirmed that Fatima Sana will lead the national side in both the Ireland tri-series and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. In this update, Pakistan announce a 15-member squad for the major events.

The squad will first take part in a tri-series in Ireland. Hosts Ireland and West Indies will also compete in the event. The series will be played in Dublin from May 28 to June 4. Pakistan will play four matches in the tournament.

Officials said Pakistan announce the squad as part of preparations for the World Cup. The tri-series will help all teams build form ahead of the global event.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5. The tournament will feature 12 teams from around the world. Pakistan will aim to perform strongly in the competition.

Several new players have been included in the squad. Eyman Fatima, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen, and Tasmia Rubab will all make their World Cup debut. Fatima Sana will captain the side for the second consecutive T20 World Cup.

The team recently delivered a strong performance in a T20I series against Zimbabwe. Pakistan secured a 3-0 clean sweep in Karachi. This result boosted confidence ahead of upcoming international fixtures.

Ahead of the World Cup, Pakistan will also play two warm-up matches. They will face Sri Lanka on June 6 and Scotland on June 9 in Derby.

In the group stage, Pakistan will face tough opponents. Their campaign begins against India on June 14 in Birmingham. They will then play South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia, and the Netherlands in later matches.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-final matches are scheduled for June 30 and July 2. The final will take place at Lord’s on July 5.

The PCB stated that Pakistan announce this squad with a focus on balance and future planning. The selected team includes experienced players and young talent to strengthen performance in global tournaments.
