Deadly Storms in India Kill 89 as Viral Video Shows Man Swept Away by Powerful Winds

Severe Storms across India’s Uttar Pradesh state caused major destruction and claimed at least 89 lives, according to Indian media reports.

Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds affected several cities in the state. Authorities also confirmed widespread damage to homes, infrastructure, and farmland.

Amid the deadly Storms, a shocking video went viral on social media showing a young man being lifted into the air by powerful winds before falling into a field.

Reports claimed the man remained suspended in the air for nearly 300 meters before crashing to the ground. He reportedly suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Police identified the injured man as Nannhe Mian, a resident of Babiyana village in the Bhamora area. According to officials, he had taken shelter inside a marriage hall as the weather conditions suddenly worsened.

During the Storms, the man allegedly tried to hold onto a metal shed to protect himself from the strong winds. However, the powerful gusts reportedly tore the structure apart and threw him far from the area.

The viral video quickly spread online and drew strong reactions from social media users, many expressing shock over the intensity of the weather conditions.

Authorities said the severe Storms also injured at least 53 people across affected regions. Rescue teams and emergency workers were deployed to assist residents and clear damaged areas.

Officials further confirmed that 114 animals died during the extreme weather event. Several roads, buildings, and electricity systems were also damaged due to falling trees and strong winds.

Weather experts say seasonal instability and changing climate conditions may be contributing to stronger storms in parts of South Asia. They warned that sudden weather changes can become dangerous, especially in open areas and poorly protected structures.

Local authorities urged citizens to remain indoors during severe weather warnings and avoid taking shelter near weak buildings, trees, or metal structures.

The recent Storms have once again highlighted the growing risks linked to extreme weather events in the region. Emergency teams continue relief operations while officials assess the full scale of damage caused by the disaster.
