Pakistan to Issue Rs.75 Commemorative Coin Marking China Relations

ISLAMABAD โ€“ Pakistan has announced a special commemorative coin to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations with China. The coin highlights long-standing friendship between the two countries.

The new coin will enter public circulation from 25 May 2026. It will be available at exchange counters of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Banking Services Corporation field offices.

Officials said the step reflects the strong historical ties between Pakistan and China. Diplomatic relations between both countries were officially established on 21 May 1951.

The coin has been designed in a round shape with milled edges. It is made from a copper-nickel alloy containing 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel. It weighs 19.0 grams and has a diameter of 36.0 millimetres.

Authorities stated that the design represents friendship, trust, and cooperation between Pakistan and China. The coin will serve as a symbolic reminder of decades of diplomatic partnership.

On the obverse side, the coin features a waxing crescent moon and a five-pointed star. These symbols are placed in the center in a rising position facing north-west.

The inscription โ€œIslami Jamhuria Pakistanโ€ is written along the upper edge in Urdu script. The year 2026 is shown below the crescent, along with wheat sprigs on both sides.

The face value of โ€œ75โ€ and the word โ€œRupiaโ€ in Urdu appear on either side of the central design. These elements highlight the official currency identity of Pakistan.

On the reverse side, the coin carries the inscription marking the โ€œ75th Anniversary of Pakistan and China Diplomatic Relations.โ€ The phrase โ€œTrust, Friendship, Supportโ€ is also written along the edge.

At the center, the national flags of Pakistan and China are displayed together. Below them is a stylized numeral โ€œ75,โ€ representing the anniversary celebration.

The years 1951 and 2026 are placed on either side of the central design. Additional inscriptions in Urdu and Chinese emphasize friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Officials said the commemorative coin reflects the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China. It also highlights shared diplomatic, economic, and strategic cooperation over the past 75 years.
