KARACHI โ A court hearing was held regarding the appearance of alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky at the Judicial Complex in Karachi.
The case was heard in the District and Sessions Judge South court. Police from several stations requested permission to produce the accused. These included Darakhshan, Gizri, Garden, and Defence police stations. The court allowed the accused to be presented inside the jail-based Judicial Complex.
Authorities said the decision was taken due to security concerns. They stated that presenting Anmol at the City Court could create risk. Therefore, the hearing was conducted inside the Central Jail Judicial Complex. Strict security arrangements were put in place.
Anmol alias Pinky was brought before the court under heavy security. Police confirmed she is facing more than 16 criminal cases. These include charges of murder, narcotics, and illegal weapons possession. The cases are registered at multiple police stations in District South.
During the hearing, police requested an extension in physical remand. They argued that further custody was required for investigation. They also said links to a wider narcotics network were under investigation. The defence lawyers strongly opposed the request.
The defence counsel stated that Anmol had already remained in custody for 11 days. They requested that she be shifted to judicial remand instead. They argued that further physical remand was not necessary. The court later reserved its decision in 11 cases.
Anmol alias Pinky has also been linked to several ongoing investigations. Police officials claimed that several associates have already been arrested. These arrests were made in cases registered at Boat Basin and Defence stations. Investigators said she had been avoiding arrest in multiple cases.
The court proceedings continued in other related cases as well. Journalists were not allowed inside the Judicial Complex during the hearing. Security at the Central Jail remained on high alert throughout the day. Officials said the arrangements were made to ensure safety and order.
