Kerosene Price Reduced to Rs272 Per Litre Following Major Fuel Price Cut

Kerosene Price Reduced to Rs272 Per Litre Following Major Fuel Price Cut

Pakistan has announced a major reduction in Kerosene prices, extending fuel relief to consumers after recent cuts in petrol and diesel rates.

According to the latest government notification, the price of Kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs41.44 per litre. Following the reduction, the new retail price has been set at Rs272 per litre. Previously, the fuel was being sold at Rs313.44 per litre.

The latest cut comes amid a decline in international crude oil prices and is part of the government’s broader effort to adjust domestic fuel rates in line with global market trends.

Officials said the reduction is expected to provide relief to households and businesses that rely on kerosene for heating, cooking, and other daily needs. The decrease may also help lower fuel-related expenses for consumers in remote and rural areas where kerosene remains widely used.

Alongside the reduction in Kerosene prices, the government has also introduced changes in petroleum levies. The petroleum levy on petrol has been reduced by Rs10.83 per litre. In contrast, the levy on diesel has been increased by Rs10.93 per litre as part of adjustments to the country’s fuel taxation framework.

Despite the significant drop in retail prices, the petroleum levy on kerosene oil remains unchanged at Rs20.36 per litre. Officials explained that the decision is intended to balance consumer relief with revenue requirements while responding to changing market conditions.

The latest measures follow a series of fuel price revisions announced by the government in recent weeks. Authorities say these adjustments are aimed at passing on the benefits of lower international oil prices to the public whenever possible.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said providing relief to citizens remains one of the government’s key priorities. He noted that the administration continues to monitor fuel markets closely and is taking steps to reduce the financial burden on the public.

Economic analysts believe the reduction could benefit consumers who depend on kerosene oil, especially in areas where access to alternative energy sources is limited. Lower fuel costs may also help ease some inflationary pressures affecting household budgets.

The latest cut in Kerosene prices is being viewed as another positive development for consumers already benefiting from recent reductions in petrol and diesel rates. As global oil prices continue to fluctuate, further adjustments may depend on future movements in international energy markets and domestic economic conditions.
