ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Air Force has officially opened applications for Commissioned Officer positions in its Medical Branch under the 137 Combat Support Course (SPSSC) for 2026.
The recruitment drive offers an excellent opportunity for qualified doctors and medical specialists seeking a prestigious career in one of Pakistan’s leading defense institutions. Successful candidates will become part of the healthcare team responsible for providing medical services to Air Force personnel and their families.
According to the announcement, online registration will begin on June 2, 2026, and continue until June 14, 2026. Applications can be submitted through the official recruitment portal of the Pakistan Air Force.
The vacancies are available for Medical Specialists and General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) under the Special Purpose Short Service Commission (SPSSC).
For Medical Specialists, applicants must possess a PMDC-recognized specialization in fields such as Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, Radiology, ENT, Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedic Surgery. Recognized qualifications include FCPS, FRCS, MRCP, MRCS, FRCR, and equivalent American Board certifications.
The Pakistan Air Force has also invited applications from MBBS graduates for General Duty Medical Officer positions. Candidates must hold a PMDC-recognized MBBS degree and complete a one-year house job from an approved institution. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant professional experience.
Both male and female Pakistani citizens can apply. The age limit is between 25 and 35 years as of October 15, 2026.
Selected Medical Specialists will be inducted with the rank of Squadron Leader, while GDMOs will join as Flight Lieutenants. The training period for both categories will be 24 weeks and will take place at the Pakistan Air Force Academy (PAFAA).
The selection process consists of several stages. Candidates will first complete online registration and then appear in verbal and non-verbal intelligence tests. Shortlisted applicants will undergo an initial medical examination, physical fitness assessment, interview, psychological evaluation, and final selection board interview.
Final interviews may be conducted in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi. Candidates who successfully complete all stages will undergo a final medical examination by the Combined Medical Board in Lahore before merit-based selection.
