Saudi Arabia Starts Issuing Umrah Visas for New Season

RIYADH โ€“ Saudi Arabia has officially started issuing Umrah visas for the new pilgrimage season. The process began on May 31.

This marks the beginning of preparations for the 1448 AH Umrah season after the completion of this yearโ€™s Hajj operations. The move is part of routine annual scheduling.

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, visa issuance will continue until March 23, 2027. The entry of international pilgrims into Saudi Arabia will also follow the same timeline.

Authorities said the last date for issuing Umrah visas is March 9, 2027. This corresponds to Shawwal 1, 1448 AH in the Islamic calendar.

Pilgrims will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia and perform Umrah after receiving official permits. These permits can be obtained through the Nusuk application.

The Nusuk platform is the Kingdomโ€™s official digital system for pilgrimage services. It provides booking, permit issuance, and travel coordination in one place.

Officials stated that all Umrah pilgrims must leave Saudi Arabia by April 7, 2027. The exit deadline is strictly aligned with the end of the season schedule.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said the system aims to improve management of growing pilgrim numbers. It also helps ensure smooth travel procedures for visitors.

Over recent years, Saudi Arabia has focused on digital transformation in pilgrimage services. The Nusuk platform plays a central role in this modernization effort.

The system uses electronic permits and QR code verification. It also automates several contracting and service processes for travel companies.

Authorities say these changes help improve efficiency and reduce delays. The platform is now widely used by pilgrims from different countries.

In addition to digital upgrades, Saudi Arabia is also expanding transport and hospitality infrastructure. These developments aim to support increasing numbers of religious visitors.

The reforms are part of the Kingdomโ€™s broader Vision 2030 plan. This strategy focuses on improving tourism, religious services, and infrastructure development.
