Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Safdar Khan Leghari passed away in Lahore on Saturday, leaving party workers and supporters in mourning. He was the son of Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Azhar Khan Leghari and was considered an active political figure within the party.
According to reports, Safdar Khan Leghari breathed his last at a local hospital in Lahore, where he had been receiving treatment for a stomach-related illness. Sources said he underwent surgery a day earlier but his condition remained critical afterward.
Following the operation, he was placed on a ventilator due to health complications. Despite medical efforts, doctors were unable to save him.
Safdar Khan Leghari was known for his involvement in both political and organizational activities within the PML-N. During the 2024 general elections, he contested as a PML-N ticket holder from constituency PP-266 in Sadiqabad. He actively participated in election campaigns and party affairs in the region.
In addition to his electoral role, he served as the head of the social media team of PML-N Punjab. Under his leadership, the party’s digital communication efforts remained active across various online platforms. Party members often recognized his contribution to strengthening the party’s presence on social media.
The death of Safdar Khan Leghari has triggered a wave of grief among political workers, supporters, and members of the wider community. Messages of condolence began pouring in shortly after the news became public.
Senior PML-N leaders expressed sorrow over his passing and extended sympathies to the bereaved family. Party officials remembered him as a dedicated worker who remained committed to the party’s goals and organizational activities.
Political figures and social personalities also shared condolence messages, praying for the departed soul and offering support to the Leghari family during this difficult time.
