Pakistan Issues Visas to 737 Sikh Pilgrims for Guru Arjan Dev Ji Events

NEW DELHI โ€“ Pakistan has issued visas to 737 Indian Sikh pilgrims to allow them to attend the annual religious ceremonies of Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Pakistan. The move is part of ongoing efforts to support religious tourism and cross-border pilgrimage.

According to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, the Sikh pilgrims will travel to Pakistan for commemorative events scheduled from June 10 to June 19, 2026. During this period, they will visit several important Sikh religious sites across the country.

Officials said the visa issuance reflects Pakistanโ€™s commitment to promoting interfaith harmony. It also aims to facilitate religious freedom for minority communities. The Sikh pilgrims will be able to take part in rituals and ceremonies linked to their faith.

The High Commission added that Pakistan regularly issues visas to Indian Sikh devotees. These arrangements are made for major religious occasions throughout the year. They include celebrations related to Guru Nanak Dev Jiโ€™s birth anniversary and other important Sikh events.

Authorities said this initiative is part of broader cultural and religious cooperation efforts. Pakistan continues to welcome Sikh pilgrims from India under special arrangements. These visits are coordinated to ensure smooth travel and security for participants.

During their stay, the pilgrims are expected to visit multiple gurdwaras and sacred sites. These locations hold deep historical and spiritual significance for the Sikh community. Officials believe such visits help strengthen people-to-people connections.

The visa process for the Sikh pilgrims has been completed in coordination with relevant authorities. Security and travel arrangements are also being prepared to ensure a safe and organized visit.

Pakistan has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to facilitating religious tourism. Officials say these pilgrimages play an important role in promoting peace and understanding between communities across borders.
