Motorcycle buyers in Pakistan may face higher costs if new tax measures are approved in Budget 2026–27. The government is considering changes that could increase prices across popular models.
The proposed adjustment includes a rise in the Climate Support Levy on petrol vehicles. It may go from 1% to 3%, affecting all motorcycles in the market.
As a result, Expected Prices of bikes are likely to increase from July 2026. This will add pressure on already cost-sensitive consumers.
Manufacturers are expected to revise their price lists if the proposal becomes law. However, no official notification has been issued yet.
Consumers are already paying multiple taxes on motorcycles. These include sales tax, excise duty, withholding tax, and registration fees.
With rising fuel costs and inflation, even small increases in Expected Prices can significantly impact middle- and lower-income families.
Electric alternatives remain limited due to higher upfront costs and lack of infrastructure. This means most buyers still rely on petrol motorcycles.
Below are the Expected Prices compared with current rates for popular models:
- Honda CD 70: from 159,900 to 163,000
- Honda CG 125: from 238,500 to 243,000
- Honda CB 150F: from 503,900 to 514,000
- Honda CG 150: from 459,900 to 469,000
- Honda CD Dream: from 170,900 to 174,000
- CG 125 Special Edition: from 286,900 to 293,000
- CG 125 Special Edition Gold: from 296,900 to 303,000
- CB 125F: from 396,900 to 405,000
- Pridor: from 211,900 to 216,000
These Expected Prices reflect a moderate but widespread increase across all major models. Even small hikes of a few thousand rupees can affect purchasing decisions.
Market experts say demand may slow down if the tax is approved. Buyers often depend on installment plans and tight budgets.
The final decision will be announced in Budget 2026–27. Until then, consumers are waiting to see whether Expected Prices will rise further or remain unchanged.
For now, uncertainty continues in the motorcycle market as economic pressure builds on households across Pakistan.
