The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to make history with opening ceremonies taking place in three countries on the same day. The landmark celebrations will be held on Friday, June 12, across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

For the first time, the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by three nations. Each host country will organize its own opening ceremony to mark the start of the tournament. The events will showcase local culture, music, and entertainment while highlighting the unity of the competition.

Mexico will host the first major ceremony at Banorte Stadium in Mexico City. The event is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EST, around 90 minutes before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa.

A major highlight of the ceremony will be the debut of the official tournament song, โ€œDai Dai.โ€ International music stars Shakira and Burna Boy are expected to perform the track live. Other artists set to appear include Alejandro Fernandez, J Balvin, Mana, and Tyla.

Canada will also host its own celebration at BMO Field in Toronto. The ceremony is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. local time and will feature a mix of Canadian and international talent.

The lineup includes Michael Buble, Alanis Morissette, and Alessia Cara. Palestinian singer Elyanna and actress-singer Nora Fatehi are also expected to perform during the event.

In the United States, the opening celebration will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will feature several internationally recognized performers.

The U.S. lineup includes Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Lisa from Blackpink, and Nigerian singer Rema. Organizers expect large crowds and global viewership for the ceremony.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is expected to be one of the biggest sporting events ever held. The tournament will bring together teams and fans from around the world across multiple cities in North America.

Speaking about the celebrations, Gianni Infantino said the three ceremonies represent the unique identity of each host nation while reflecting the unity of the tournament.
