Nawaz Sharif Performs Umrah During Official Visit to Saudi Arabia

Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Saudi Arabia on a private visit focused on religious observances. The visit comes after he traveled from Geneva before reaching the Kingdom.

According to reports, Nawaz Sharif landed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, where he was welcomed by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq. The Consul General and officials from the PML-N were also present to receive him upon arrival.

During his stay in Saudi Arabia, Nawaz Sharif performed Umrah and offered prayers at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah. The visit to Islam’s holiest site is considered one of the key aspects of his trip, which has been described as a private and spiritual journey.

Sources within the party said that Nawaz Sharif spent time in worship and prayers during his visit to the Holy Mosque. The former prime minister is known to visit Saudi Arabia on various occasions for religious purposes and personal engagements.

Reports further suggest that Nawaz Sharif is expected to continue his religious activities by visiting Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. During the visit, he is likely to offer prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque and pay respects at Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).

Party sources indicated that Friday prayers at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi are also expected to be part of his schedule. The visit is being viewed as a personal trip dedicated to worship, reflection, and spiritual devotion.

Saudi Arabia remains an important destination for millions of Muslims who travel to perform Umrah and visit the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah. Religious visits by political leaders and public figures often attract public attention due to their significance and visibility.

The current visit has not been linked to any official government engagements. Instead, it has been described as a private journey centered on faith and religious obligations.

The arrival of Nawaz Sharif in Saudi Arabia has drawn interest among supporters and political observers. However, the focus of the trip remains on religious observances rather than political activities.
