Social Media Outage Hits Facebook and Instagram Users Worldwide

Social Media Outage Hits Facebook and Instagram Users Worldwide

New York: Major Social Media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, experienced widespread disruptions in Pakistan and several other countries on Friday. Thousands of users reported issues accessing services as outages affected both websites and mobile applications.

Reports of the disruption quickly appeared on outage tracking platforms and online discussion forums. Users from different regions said they were unable to access certain features on Meta-owned platforms.

According to user reports, the web versions of Facebook and Instagram were largely inaccessible during the outage. Many users said the websites failed to load completely, preventing them from browsing content or accessing their accounts through desktop browsers.

The disruption also affected mobile applications, although not all services were impacted equally. In Pakistan, the Facebook app continued to function partially. Some users were able to browse Reels and other content without major problems. However, features such as Stories failed to load properly for many people.

Instagram users reported a similar situation. The mobile app remained mostly operational, but the web version was inaccessible for a large number of users. Many individuals struggled to access the platform through desktop devices.

The outage sparked discussions across various Social Media channels and online communities. Users shared screenshots and updates regarding service interruptions. Reports on monitoring websites showed dozens of outage complaints from multiple countries within a short period.

Globally, users reported several technical issues. These included problems loading feeds, refreshing content, sending direct messages, and accessing notifications. Some users also experienced delays when attempting to upload content or interact with posts.

The disruption appeared to affect different regions in varying ways. While some users retained partial access to platform features, others reported complete service failures. The exact cause of the outage was not immediately known.

Meta had not provided a detailed explanation regarding the incident at the time of reporting. It also remained unclear when all services would return to normal operation.

The latest outage highlights the heavy reliance on Social Media platforms for communication, information sharing, and digital engagement. Temporary disruptions can affect millions of users worldwide within minutes.

Users are advised to monitor official platform updates for information regarding service restoration. Until then, some features of Facebook and Instagram may continue to experience intermittent issues in Pakistan and other parts of the world.
