PMD Predicts Light Rain With Dusty Winds in Sindh, Balochistan

PMD Predicts Light Rain With Dusty Winds in Sindh, Balochistan

A hot and dry weather spell continues across most parts of Pakistan on Monday. Temperatures remain high in many regions. In several cities, the mercury has crossed 40 degrees Celsius.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts light rain in some northern and hilly areas. However, most of the country will continue to face dry and hot conditions.

In Sibi, the maximum temperature reached 47 degrees Celsius. Dadu recorded 45 degrees Celsius. Bahawalpur saw 42 degrees, while Multan recorded 41 degrees. Hyderabad also remained hot at 40 degrees Celsius.

Lahore and Faisalabad recorded 38 degrees Celsius. Islamabad and Peshawar remained at 37 degrees. Karachi and Quetta recorded comparatively lower temperatures at 35 degrees Celsius.

The PMD report indicates that the heatwave is likely to persist in the coming days. However, it also predicts light rain in isolated areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and nearby mountainous regions.

Meteorologists said that this rainfall may be scattered and short in duration. Strong winds and thunderstorms may also accompany the showers in some locations. Despite this, most lowland areas will stay dry.

Experts have warned citizens to take precautionary measures during the ongoing heatwave. They advised people to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours. Staying hydrated is also strongly recommended.

Doctors have further advised wearing light clothing and limiting outdoor activities. Heat-related illnesses remain a concern in extreme temperatures.

The PMD also stated that weather conditions could slightly improve in northern regions where it predicts light rain activity. These showers may provide temporary relief from rising temperatures.

However, officials emphasized that no widespread rainfall system is expected at this stage. The overall weather pattern remains dominated by hot and dry air.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. Citizens are encouraged to follow weather updates regularly.

In summary, while the country remains under a strong heatwave, the PMD predicts light rain in select northern areas. Relief is expected only in limited regions, while most parts will continue to experience extreme heat.
