Strong Winds and Rain Expected in Lahore and Several Punjab Cities

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert across Punjab, warning residents about strong winds, thunderstorms, Rain, and possible hailstorms in several districts.

According to PDMA officials, a new weather system has entered the region and is expected to affect most parts of Punjab. The authority said the changing weather conditions could bring widespread Rain along with gusty winds and thunderstorms in many cities.

PDMA spokespersons stated that rainfall activity is likely to begin from today and continue over the coming days. Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious and follow safety instructions during the period of unstable weather.

Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said advance alerts have been sent to all commissioners and deputy commissioners across Punjab. The purpose is to ensure that local administrations are prepared to respond quickly to any emergency situation.

Several districts are expected to receive Rain, including Lahore, Toba Tek Singh, Pakpattan, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, and nearby areas. Weather experts have also warned of strong winds and thunderstorms that may affect daily activities in these regions.

The PDMA has advised people to avoid open spaces during lightning and severe weather. Residents have been encouraged to stay indoors whenever possible during thunderstorms. Authorities also recommended avoiding unnecessary travel during dust storms and periods of strong winds.

Farmers have been asked to take precautionary steps to protect standing crops from possible weather-related damage. Agricultural experts believe timely measures can help reduce losses caused by strong winds, hail, or heavy rainfall.

Tourists planning trips to northern areas have also been advised to remain alert. Officials urged travelers to check weather updates regularly and follow all safety guidelines before beginning their journeys.

Meanwhile, emergency services and relevant government departments have been placed on high alert. Rescue teams and local authorities are prepared to respond if severe weather causes disruptions or emergencies.
