A new Indian television drama has sparked online criticism after viewers accused it of copying scenes from the popular Pakistani serial Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.
The Indian show Qubool Hai, featuring real-life couple Mohit and Sanaya, has drawn attention due to similarities noticed by fans. Viewers compared several scenes from the drama with moments from Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, which starred Fahad Mustafa as Mustafa and Hania Aamir as Sharjeena.
The controversy began after a cooking scene appeared in the Indian drama. In the scene, a female character prepares food for the family and another woman offers her money. Fans immediately linked the moment to a similar scene from Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.
In the Pakistani drama, Sharjeena cooks for the household, while Rubab tries to give her money. The situation turns into an emotional confrontation between the two characters.
Following the scene, social media users shared their reactions. Many expressed disappointment and claimed that the Indian drama had copied elements from the Pakistani series.
Some users commented that the scene was a direct copy of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. Others compared the performances of the actors and said the original emotional impact was difficult to match.
The criticism was not limited to one scene. Several viewers claimed that other moments from the Indian drama also appeared similar to scenes from the Pakistani show.
This is not the first time that Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum has faced such comparisons with Indian television content. In 2025, viewers made similar claims about the long-running Indian serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Fans at the time highlighted similarities between the storylines of Armaan and Abhira and the journey of Mustafa and Sharjeena. They also pointed out similarities in character appearances and clothing styles.
Released in 2024, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum became one of Pakistan’s most successful television dramas. The show gained massive popularity among audiences and crossed 1.4 billion views on YouTube.
