Lahore High Court Receives Petition Against CCD Officials in Hania Ahmed Case

A petition against Crime Control Department (CCD) personnel has been filed in the Lahore High Court over the tragic death of nine-year-old Pakistani-Australian girl Hania Ahmed. The case has raised serious questions about law enforcement accountability.

The petition against the incident was submitted by the Judicial Activism Panel. It urges the court to order an independent and judicially supervised investigation into the circumstances of the child’s death.

According to the petition, Hania Ahmed lost her life during an alleged firing incident involving CCD officials. Her father and younger brother were also injured in the same event.

Advocate Azhar Siddique, representing the petitioners, argued that the case cannot be treated as a routine operational matter. He said the incident reflects a serious violation of fundamental rights.

He further stated in the petition against CCD personnel that the state must ensure accountability for all law enforcement agencies. He emphasized that unchecked authority cannot be allowed under any circumstances.

The petition also requested preservation of key evidence. This includes CCTV footage, wireless communication records, and weapon usage data linked to the incident.

It called for registration of a murder case against those responsible. It also demanded reforms in CCD procedures, training standards, and oversight systems.

The petition against the authorities highlights concerns over transparency and justice. It states that only a fair and supervised inquiry can uncover the truth behind the incident.

During the hearing, Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry questioned whether the case should be heard at the Lahore High Court principal seat. He suggested that it may fall under the Rawalpindi Bench jurisdiction.

However, the petitioner’s lawyer argued that broader legal and constitutional issues are involved. He said the matter concerns institutional accountability of CCD, which requires high court attention.

The court later directed that the petition be heard along with the main case. This means further proceedings will continue under judicial review.

Public concern continues to grow as the case develops. The tragic death of Hania Ahmed has sparked strong reactions in Pakistan and abroad.

International attention has also increased, with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese calling for a transparent investigation.

As the legal process continues, the petition against CCD officials remains central to the demand for justice. The family of Hania Ahmed continues to seek answers through the courts, hoping for accountability and reform in the system.
