Indian Punjabi actress Sargun Mehta has once again expressed her admiration for Pakistani dramas, praising the quality and popularity of the country’s entertainment industry.
During the London promotion of her upcoming Punjabi film Carry on Jatta 4, Sargun Mehta spoke with a Pakistani reporter about her love for Pakistani television content. She revealed that she regularly watches Pakistani dramas and follows several leading actors.
Mehta said she has watched many Pakistani shows and enjoys the performances of some of the industry’s biggest stars. She mentioned actors including Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, and Bilal Abbas among her favourites.
“I have watched all your shows, I think I may have watched even more than you,” she said while discussing Pakistani dramas. She also added that she could provide a long list of Pakistani actors and shows she admires.
This is not the first time Sargun Mehta has openly appreciated Pakistani content. In a previous interview in 2022, she described herself as a huge fan of Pakistani dramas. She shared that she often keeps a list of dramas to watch and completes them within a few days.
At the time, Mehta praised popular dramas including Meray Paas Tum Ho and Raqeeb Se. She said she had watched Meray Paas Tum Ho multiple times and admired the storytelling and writing quality of Raqeeb Se.
Sargun Mehta is among the most recognised actresses in Punjabi cinema. She has received five PTC Punjabi Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards Punjabi during her career.
She made her acting debut in films with the 2015 romantic comedy Angrej. The movie became one of the highest-grossing Punjabi films of that year. Her performance earned her the PTC Punjabi Film Award for Best Actress.
She later appeared in successful films such as Love Punjab, Lahoriye, Qismat, and Qismat 2. Her performances in Love Punjab and Lahoriye also brought her Filmfare Awards Punjabi recognition. Besides acting, she has expanded her career into production through Dreamiyata Entertainment.
Her upcoming film Carry on Jatta 4 is set to release worldwide on June 26, 2026. The fourth instalment of the popular franchise is directed by Smeep Kang and written by Naresh Kathooria. The film is produced by Gippy Grewal and Ravneet Kaur Grewal under Humble Motion Pictures in association with Panorama Studios.

Several other Indian celebrities have also praised Pakistani dramas. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has previously appreciated Pakistani television content, calling its storytelling exceptional. Actress Kajol has also said Indian television producers can learn from Pakistani dramas and their quality of language and presentation.
