Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister-Elect to Take Oath on July 1

Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister-elect Amjad Hussain Advocate will take the Oath of office on July 1 during an official ceremony in Gilgit. The event will be held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and will formally mark the beginning of his tenure as the region’s new chief executive.

According to official sources, preparations for the ceremony are in full swing. Invitations have already been sent to important political leaders, government officials, and other distinguished guests expected to attend the event.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also expected to participate in the ceremony. Several senior PPP leaders and government representatives are likely to join him as Gilgit-Baltistan welcomes its new Chief Minister.

Amjad Hussain Advocate secured the position without facing any opposition. He was elected unopposed on June 22 after receiving the support of members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. His unanimous election reflected broad political backing within the assembly.

The Oath-taking ceremony is considered an important constitutional step before a newly elected Chief Minister officially assumes office. After taking the oath, Amjad Hussain Advocate will begin performing his official duties and leading the provincial administration.

Government officials are making final arrangements to ensure the ceremony is conducted smoothly. Security measures and administrative preparations are also being completed ahead of the event.

The new Chief Minister is expected to outline his government’s priorities soon after assuming office. These priorities are likely to focus on governance, public services, infrastructure development, tourism, education, healthcare, and economic growth across Gilgit-Baltistan.

Political observers believe the beginning of the new administration could bring fresh opportunities for the region. Many residents are hopeful that the incoming government will address long-standing development challenges while promoting stability and investment.

The Oath ceremony will not only complete the constitutional process but will also officially launch a new phase of leadership in Gilgit-Baltistan. The event is expected to receive significant attention due to the presence of senior political figures and government officials.
