Pakistan to Launch Nationwide Crackdown on Illegal Afghan Nationals from July 10

The federal government has announced that it will begin arresting Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan from July 10. The move is part of a renewed nationwide campaign against undocumented foreigners living in the country without valid legal documents.

The Ministry of Interior has issued official directives to the chief secretaries of all four provinces. Similar instructions have also been sent to the administrations of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad to ensure the decision is implemented across the country.

According to the ministry, any Afghan nationals found living in Pakistan without a valid visa will face arrest starting July 10. Authorities have been directed to strictly enforce the government’s orders and take action against individuals who are staying illegally.

The ministry has also instructed officials to speed up the deportation process. This includes Afghan nationals whose visas have expired or those who have remained in the country beyond their permitted stay.

Deputy commissioners, police departments, and other law enforcement agencies have been directed to coordinate efforts for the implementation of the policy. Officials have been asked to ensure that legal procedures are followed during the operation.

The government has also introduced a reporting system to monitor the progress of the crackdown. Beginning July 11, all relevant authorities must submit daily reports to the Ministry of Interior.

These reports will include the number of undocumented Afghan nationals arrested each day. Authorities will also provide details about the legal action taken and the current status of those detained.

The ministry has emphasized that all departments should work together to ensure the smooth execution of the operation. Provincial administrations have been instructed to provide full support to law enforcement agencies throughout the process.

The decision is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to regulate the stay of foreign nationals and ensure compliance with immigration laws. Officials have stressed that valid visa holders will not be affected by the action.

Authorities have been directed to complete the required procedures without unnecessary delays. The Ministry of Interior has also instructed all concerned departments to maintain accurate records and regularly update the federal government on the progress of the operation.
