14 Prisoners Escape From Prison Van While Being Taken to Adiala Jail

A major security incident took place in Kahuta after 14 prisoners escaped from a prison van while being transported to Adiala Jail following their court appearance. Police have launched a large-scale search operation to capture the remaining fugitives.

According to police officials, the prison van was on its way to Adiala Jail when it was stopped for a routine security check. During the stop, one of the inmates allegedly threw chilli powder into the eyes of police personnel. The sudden attack created confusion and allowed several prisoners to escape from custody.

Law enforcement agencies responded immediately after the incident. Police teams were dispatched to different parts of Kahuta to begin an extensive search for the escaped prisoners.

Officials confirmed that four of the 14 escaped inmates were rearrested shortly after the incident. The remaining prisoners are still at large, and efforts to locate them continue.

Authorities have sealed all major entry and exit points in Kahuta to prevent the fugitives from leaving the area. Security has also been tightened at key locations as part of the ongoing operation.

A heavy police contingent has been deployed across the region. Search teams are checking different areas and gathering information to trace the escaped inmates. Police are also monitoring possible routes that the fugitives may have used after fleeing.

According to officials, the prisoners were being transported back to Adiala Jail after attending court proceedings. The incident occurred during the return journey when security personnel temporarily halted the prison van.

Rawalpindi Police confirmed the rearrest of four prisoners and said the search operation remains active. Officials stated that all available resources are being used to apprehend the remaining inmates as quickly as possible.

Police have not yet released the identities of the escaped prisoners or provided details about the cases they were facing. Further information is expected after the investigation progresses.

Authorities are also expected to review the circumstances that led to the escape. The use of chilli powder to distract security personnel has raised concerns about transport security and prisoner handling procedures.
