Roof Collapse at Tuition Centre in Lahore’s Kahna Area Traps Around 20 Children

A tragic incident occurred in the Kahna area of Lahore on Tuesday when the roof of a house being used as a private tuition centre collapsed, trapping around 20 children beneath the debris.

According to initial reports, the tuition class was underway inside a house located in a rural part of the Kahna area. Around 20 children were attending the lesson when the roof suddenly gave way. The roof was reportedly built using T-R girders.

The collapse caused panic among students and nearby residents. People rushed to the scene and immediately informed emergency services. Police and rescue teams quickly reached the location to begin a search and rescue operation.

Rescue officials confirmed that seven children had been pulled alive from the rubble during the initial phase of the operation. Emergency workers said the rescued children were facing breathing difficulties because of the large amount of dust and debris.

Rescue personnel provided first aid at the scene. They cleared mud and dust from the children’s mouths and noses to help them breathe before shifting them to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment.

The rescue operation remained underway as officials continued searching for other children believed to be trapped under the collapsed structure. Heavy rescue equipment and trained emergency responders were deployed to remove debris carefully and avoid causing further harm.

Local residents also played an important role in the rescue efforts. Volunteers joined emergency workers to help clear rubble and assist in locating those still trapped beneath the collapsed roof.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the collapse. However, the incident has raised concerns about the structural safety of buildings being used for educational purposes, especially in residential areas.

Police secured the site to allow rescue teams to carry out their work without interruption. Officials said every effort was being made to rescue the remaining children as quickly and safely as possible.

The roof collapse in the Kahna area has shocked the local community. Families gathered outside the damaged building, anxiously waiting for updates on the rescue operation. Authorities said they would investigate the incident after rescue efforts are completed to determine whether negligence or construction issues contributed to the collapse.
