Government Notifies Police Transfers, New Postings, and Suspension of Officer

The federal government has issued a fresh set of administrative orders covering appointments, transfers, leave approvals, retirement, and Police-related decisions across several ministries and divisions.

According to official notifications released on Tuesday, the changes affect officers serving in different government departments. The notifications include extensions of additional charge, transfers, suspension, approved leave, and retirement.

One of the key decisions was the extension of the additional charge held by Sara Aslam. She will continue serving as the Acting Chairman of the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority for another three months. Sara Aslam is currently serving as the Special Secretary of the Cabinet Division. The extension took effect from June 19, 2026.

In another decision, the government approved 180 days of leave for Ijaz Ahmed Mahesar. He serves as a Grade-21 Senior Joint Secretary in the Commerce Division. His leave will begin on July 1, 2026.

The government also announced several transfers within the federal administration. Abdul Sattar Khokhar, a Grade-21 Senior Joint Secretary in the Maritime Affairs Division, has been transferred. He has been directed to report to the Establishment Division.

Meanwhile, Khalida Bashir has been transferred from the Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Division. She has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Maritime Affairs Division.

A major Police-related decision was also included in the notifications. The Establishment Division suspended ASP Sara Ali Hashmi, a Grade-17 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan. The suspension will remain in effect for an initial period of 120 days under Rule 5 of the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020.

According to the official notification, Sara Ali Hashmi was previously serving as the SDPO Sadar Chakwal. At the time of the suspension, she was awaiting a new posting in the Establishment Division.

Sources said the officer did not comply with the Punjab government’s instructions to report to the Establishment Division after her transfer in April 2026. The suspension was issued following this reported delay.

The government also announced the retirement of Shahzad Asif, who serves as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs. His retirement will take effect from September 9, 2026.

Another transfer involves Irfanullah, an Assistant Accounts Officer in the Office of the Accountant General of Pakistan. He has been posted as Accounts Officer in the Police Coordination Unit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
