Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced the launch of a passport home delivery service to make passport collection easier for citizens. The new initiative is designed to provide greater convenience by allowing applicants to receive their passports at their preferred address instead of collecting them in person.
According to reports, the service has been introduced as part of efforts to improve public services and simplify the passport delivery process. Citizens who choose this option will be able to receive their passports at home after paying a delivery fee.
Under the new system, applicants will be required to pay Rs550 as the home delivery charge. The fee will cover the cost of delivering the passport directly to the recipient’s address.
Officials said the service will only be provided with the consent of the passport holder. This means that applicants will have the choice of whether they want their passport delivered to their home or prefer to collect it through the existing process.
Mohsin Naqvi said the initiative aims to improve convenience for the public while reducing unnecessary travel and waiting time. The home delivery option is expected to benefit people who find it difficult to visit passport offices because of work, distance, or other commitments.
