The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has announced a new schedule of planned Electricity outages in several areas. The temporary shutdowns are part of maintenance, repair, and development work on the power distribution network.
According to an official notification issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Construction), the scheduled outages will take place on July 15, 19, 22, 26, and 29, 2026. The work is aimed at improving the reliability and performance of the electricity supply system.
GEPCO said Electricity supply will remain suspended from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on each of the announced dates. Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to prepare in advance to reduce inconvenience during the shutdown period.
The utility company stated that the planned outages will affect consumers connected to the Kalowal and Downstream feeders. Only the areas served by these feeders will experience the temporary suspension of power during the scheduled maintenance hours.
Officials explained that the maintenance work is necessary to strengthen the electricity distribution network. Regular repair and development projects help improve system efficiency and reduce the risk of unexpected power interruptions in the future.
GEPCO urged residents and businesses in the affected locations to make necessary arrangements before the scheduled outages begin. Consumers are encouraged to store enough water if they rely on electric water pumps and to plan any essential tasks that require power.
The company also advised businesses, schools, and offices to adjust their schedules where possible. People who depend on electrical equipment for daily activities should ensure they have alternative arrangements during the outage period.
Planned maintenance is a routine part of operating a reliable power network. Utility companies often schedule temporary shutdowns to replace damaged equipment, upgrade infrastructure, and carry out safety inspections without risking larger system failures.
GEPCO said the maintenance teams will work to complete the repairs within the announced time frame. If the work finishes earlier than expected, Electricity supply may be restored before 1:00 PM.
Residents have been requested to cooperate with the utility company during the maintenance period. Officials believe the temporary inconvenience will help improve the overall quality and stability of electricity services in the affected areas.
Consumers are also advised to unplug sensitive electrical appliances before the outage begins. This precaution can help protect devices from possible voltage fluctuations when power is restored.
The company has assured customers that the planned work is being carried out to ensure a safer and more dependable electricity network. Infrastructure upgrades are expected to improve service quality and reduce future maintenance requirements.
GEPCO has encouraged consumers to stay updated through its official communication channels for any changes to the maintenance schedule or restoration timings.
