The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has announced an auction for commercial lease rights at Islamabad Airport. The move offers businesses an opportunity to establish food outlets at one of the country’s busiest aviation hubs.
According to the official announcement, the auction will be held on August 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The event will take place in the Conference Room, Red Building, Block III, at Islamabad International Airport.
The auction is for the development and operation of the Sky View Food Promenade. The project is expected to bring more dining options for travelers while creating new commercial opportunities for local and international businesses.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has offered five commercial plots under the scheme. The minimum bid has been set at Rs. 26,250 per square yard.
Four of the available plots each require an earnest money deposit of Rs. 1.8 million. These include Plots B-116-A, B-116-B, B-116-C, and B-116-E. Their sizes range from 1,694 to 1,743 square yards.
Plot B-116-D is the largest among the five, covering 2,115 square yards. Interested bidders for this plot must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs. 2.22 million.
The PAA has also outlined separate eligibility requirements for the available plots. Plots A, B, C, and E are reserved for companies with an established international brand presence.
Meanwhile, Plot D has been reserved exclusively for Pakistani food brands. The authority said this decision aims to encourage local businesses while maintaining a mix of international and domestic dining options at Islamabad Airport.
The lease period for all plots will be 30 years. Businesses will also have the option to extend the agreement for another 20 years through mutual consent. The extension will follow the provisions of the PAA Land Lease Policy 2019.
Interested companies must complete several requirements before taking part in the auction. Applicants are required to submit two copies of their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
Participants must also pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 10,000. In addition, they must provide the required earnest money through a pay order before the auction begins.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has clarified that companies with outstanding dues to the authority will not be allowed to participate. Businesses that have been blacklisted are also ineligible for the bidding process.
Officials advised interested investors to carefully review all auction requirements before submitting their applications. Complete terms and conditions are available through the Pakistan Airports Authority.
