Punjab authorities are continuing their Crackdown against illegally residing foreign nationals, with more than 36,500 people deported from the province so far. Officials say the operation is being carried out under government policy and follows established legal procedures.
According to Punjab Police, a total of 36,545 Afghan nationals and other undocumented foreign residents have been deported from different districts, including Lahore. The authorities said the operation remains active as officials continue to identify and process individuals staying in the province without valid legal status.
Police also confirmed that 504 people are currently being kept at designated holding points while further legal and administrative procedures are completed before deportation.
Official data released by Punjab Police provides a detailed breakdown of those deported. The figures include 14,614 men, 7,234 women, and 14,697 children. Authorities said the operation covered different categories of foreign nationals residing in Pakistan.
Among those removed were 11,124 individuals holding Proof of Registration (PoR) documents, 11,137 Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders, and 14,284 undocumented foreign nationals who were identified as living illegally in the country.
The ongoing Crackdown is part of wider efforts by the provincial government to enforce immigration laws and strengthen public security. Officials said the process is being conducted in accordance with the policies announced by the government.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim said security arrangements have been strengthened across the province to ensure the deportation process continues smoothly. He added that police personnel have been deployed where needed to maintain law and order throughout the operation.
According to the police chief, Punjab Police is implementing the government’s policy for the removal of undocumented foreign nationals while following international laws and recognized legal procedures. He stressed that the process is being carried out in an organized and lawful manner.
Authorities have also instructed local police units to continue monitoring areas where undocumented foreign nationals may be residing. Officials said close coordination between law enforcement agencies is helping ensure the operation is completed efficiently.
The provincial administration has maintained that the Crackdown is focused on enforcing immigration regulations rather than targeting any specific community. Officials have urged all foreign nationals living in Pakistan to ensure their legal documentation remains valid and up to date.
The deportation campaign remains one of the largest recent immigration enforcement efforts in Punjab. Authorities say the operation will continue until all identified cases have been processed according to the law.
