A 25-year-old applicant died while taking part in a recruitment physical test for the Islamabad Police on Monday. The incident occurred during the mandatory running test conducted for candidates seeking to join the force.
According to police officials, the candidate suddenly collapsed while completing the running exercise. He lost consciousness during the test, prompting officials and rescue personnel to respond immediately.
Emergency teams rushed the applicant to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital in an ambulance. However, doctors confirmed that he had already passed away before reaching the hospital.
The deceased was identified as Ishaq, a resident of Sarai Norang in Lakki Marwat district. Authorities said the candidate was participating in the physical recruitment process when the medical emergency occurred.
The Islamabad Police confirmed that the incident took place during the running test, which is a standard part of the recruitment procedure. Officials said immediate medical assistance was provided after the candidate collapsed.
Despite the quick response, doctors at PIMS Hospital declared him dead upon arrival. Initial information suggests he lost consciousness during the physical activity, but the exact cause of death has not yet been officially announced.
The unfortunate incident has drawn attention to the physical demands of recruitment tests conducted by law enforcement agencies. Running tests are commonly included to assess the fitness levels of applicants before selection.
