Google Reveals Pakistan’s Massive Global Growth on YouTube

YouTube continues to expand its reach in Pakistan, with more than 1,200 local channels now surpassing one million subscribers. The latest figures shared by Google also show that Pakistani creators are attracting a growing international audience.

According to the data, more than 60 percent of watch time on content produced by Pakistani channels now comes from viewers outside Pakistan. This highlights the increasing global appeal of local creators and their content.

Google reported that Pakistan-based creators uploaded more than 20 million hours of content over the past year. The figures reflect the rapid growth of the country’s digital content industry and the rising popularity of YouTube among local creators.

The platform has also seen strong growth across different subscriber milestones. More than 140,000 Pakistani channels have crossed 10,000 subscribers. Meanwhile, over 19,000 channels have reached the 100,000-subscriber mark.

The international audience for Pakistani content continues to expand across several regions. Viewers from South Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America account for a significant share of watch time.

The latest statistics suggest that Pakistani creators are successfully reaching audiences beyond the domestic market. Their videos are gaining recognition among viewers with different languages, cultures and interests.

Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Cluster Director for Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and Frontier Markets, said YouTube has become an important platform for Pakistani creators. He noted that creators are sharing local culture, ideas and creativity with audiences around the world.

According to Qureshi, the platform is not only helping creators grow their online presence but also enabling them to build businesses. Many content creators are generating income, creating employment opportunities and supporting entrepreneurship through digital content.

The growth of Pakistani creators also reflects changing viewing habits. More people are consuming online video content, allowing local channels to compete with international creators on a global platform.

Several Pakistani creators have built large followings by producing content in different formats. Entertainment, lifestyle, travel, technology, education and comedy remain among the most popular categories attracting millions of viewers.

One example is Shahveer Jaffry, who has nearly four million subscribers. He is known for producing long-form reality-style videos featuring a regular group of friends. His episodes usually run for 30 minutes or less and focus on everyday situations presented in an entertaining format.

Industry experts believe the continued growth of digital content will encourage more Pakistanis to enter the creator economy. As internet access and digital skills improve, the number of successful creators is expected to increase further.

Google’s latest figures show that Pakistani creators are strengthening their global presence through consistent content production and audience engagement. The growing international watch time also demonstrates that locally produced videos can attract viewers well beyond national borders.
