ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced scheduled power outages for Friday.
The outages will affect several areas across Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Taxila, Kahuta, and nearby regions.
According to an IESCO spokesperson, the interruptions are linked to maintenance and development work. Electricity supply will remain suspended at different times during the day.
In Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, power supply will be suspended from 6am to 10am. The outage will affect consumers connected to the Sagri and Kallar Syedan feeders.
In Attock Circle, electricity will remain unavailable from 5am to 12pm. The affected feeders include Hussain Abad, Lala Zar, and Industrial Estate Bather.
Consumers in several areas of Chakwal will also face scheduled power interruptions. The outage will continue from 6am to 12pm.
The affected Chakwal feeders include Jamal Wal, Mengan, Karyala, and KSM Unit-3. Consumers connected to these feeders have been advised to plan accordingly.
IESCO also announced interruptions in areas supplied through the GSO Circle. The company said maintenance work is planned at several 132kV grid stations.
The work will affect Rawat-II and AWC HMC Taxila. Sangjani-Burhan and Kahuta City-Palandri areas will also experience interruptions.
New Wah-Bahtermore and surrounding areas are also included in the scheduled outage plan. The interruptions will occur at different times between 8am and 6pm.
The power company said the outages are necessary to complete maintenance activities. The work is intended to support the reliability of the electricity supply network.
IESCO has asked affected consumers to make necessary arrangements during the scheduled interruption periods. The company said restoration will follow the completion of the planned work.
The duration of some outages may be shorter than the announced schedule. IESCO said electricity could be restored earlier if maintenance work finishes ahead of time.
The company also apologized to consumers for the temporary inconvenience. It said efforts would be made to complete the work as quickly as possible.
Scheduled outages are generally announced to allow electricity consumers to prepare in advance. Maintenance work can include repairs, upgrades, and development activities at grid stations and feeders.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas may need to arrange alternative power sources. They should also consider the announced timings when planning their daily activities.
The latest schedule covers multiple areas across IESCO’s service region. Consumers are advised to remain aware of local electricity supply updates.
The company reiterated that power restoration will begin once the required maintenance work is completed. Supply may return before the scheduled time where work finishes early.
