Heavy Monsoon Rain Lashes Lahore as Rainfall Crosses 100mm

Heavy monsoon Rain continued across Lahore, bringing more than 100 millimetres of rainfall to some parts of the city.

Data from the Pakistan Meteorological Department showed significant differences in rainfall across Lahore. Jail Road recorded the highest total at 104mm. The Lahore Airport area followed closely with 102mm.

The downpour also caused water accumulation in several parts of the provincial capital. Relevant authorities were carrying out drainage operations in affected locations.

Jail Road Records Highest Rainfall

According to the meteorological data, rainfall began at 8:40am. Since then, Lahore had received an average of 24.1mm of rainfall across the city.

However, some locations received considerably heavier showers. Jail Road crossed the 100mm mark with 104mm. Lahore Airport also experienced intense rainfall, recording 102mm.

Kahna received 75.6mm, making it another heavily affected location. Hadiara Defence Road recorded 57.6mm, while Manawan received 57mm.

Tajpura recorded 39.8mm of rainfall, while Mughalpura received 32.8mm. Shadipura received 28mm, while Nishtar Town recorded 27.6mm.

Rainfall Varies Across Lahore

Other parts of Lahore received relatively lower amounts of Rain during the same period. Gulberg recorded 10.8mm, while Chowk Na Khuda received 10.4mm.

Johar Town recorded 10mm, while Ahtimam received 9mm. Samanabad received 4mm of rainfall. Iqbal Town and Sagian both recorded 3.6mm.

Lakshmi Chowk received 3mm, while Gulshan Ravi recorded 1.6mm. Farukhabad recorded the lowest rainfall among the listed locations at 0.8mm.

The figures show that the monsoon spell affected different areas of Lahore with varying intensity. While some locations crossed 100mm, others received only light rainfall.

Water Accumulates in Parts of Lahore

The heavy downpour resulted in water accumulation across several parts of the city.

Authorities were engaged in drainage operations to remove accumulated water from affected locations. The rainfall data highlights the intensity of the latest monsoon spell, particularly around Jail Road and Lahore Airport.

Residents in several other areas also experienced moderate to heavy showers. The latest Rain comes as Lahore continues to experience monsoon conditions.

According to the available data, the citywide average stood at 24.1mm since rainfall began at 8:40am. However, rainfall totals remained much higher in some areas.

With Jail Road reaching 104mm and Lahore Airport recording 102mm, these locations received the heaviest rainfall reported in the city during the period.
