The federal government has approved a major Salary increase for judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Under the revised package, the basic salaries of Supreme Court judges have increased by Rs400,000.
President Asif Ali Zardari approved the changes following a recommendation from the federal government.
The revised pay structure also includes higher judicial allowances and additional financial benefits for the judges.
Chief Justice Salary Rises to Rs1.55 Million
Under the new package, the Chief Justice of Pakistan will receive a monthly Salary of Rs1.55 million.
Other judges of the Supreme Court will receive Rs1.5 million per month.
The increase represents a significant adjustment to the existing compensation package for the country’s highest court.
Judicial allowances have also been increased as part of the revised financial package.

Judges to Receive Rs150000 Medical Allowance
Supreme Court judges will also receive a monthly medical allowance of Rs150,000.

The revised package therefore includes adjustments beyond the basic Salary increase.
New Package Effective From December 2025
The revised compensation package will apply retrospectively from December 10, 2025.

Arrears resulting from the revised salaries will also be included under the approved package.
The retrospective implementation will cover the difference between previous and revised payments from the effective date.
Additional benefits approved under the package will also apply according to the relevant rules.
