Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a major financial relief package for vulnerable communities across the province.
The package covers persons with disabilities, orphans and widows through several new welfare initiatives.
The measures include monthly financial assistance, scholarships, business financing and other forms of financial support.
Advisor to the Chief Minister Malik Liaquat Ali Khan announced the initiatives during a Khuli Kachehri in Swabi.
He serves as the advisor on Social Welfare, Zakat and Ushr.
Khan said several new welfare schemes had been included in the current Annual Development Program.

The initiative is specifically designed to support persons with disabilities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Through the scheme, eligible individuals will receive financing to establish small businesses.
The government expects the program to help beneficiaries become more financially independent.
The Interest-Free Loan initiative forms part of the province’s broader financial assistance package.
Further details about eligibility, loan amounts and the application procedure are expected through the relevant authorities.

Under the program, 10,000 eligible persons with disabilities will receive Rs. 5,000 every month.
Another card-based initiative will provide similar monthly assistance to eligible orphans and widows.
Beneficiaries under that initiative will also receive Rs. 5,000 per month.
Authorities plan to transfer payments directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Registration services will also be provided at beneficiaries’ doorsteps to make the process easier.

The scholarship initiative will support students with disabilities seeking higher education.
It is also intended to help students develop professional skills and improve their future employment opportunities.
The relief package includes additional support for persons with disabilities.
A special quota will be provided under the provincial dowry fund.
Deserving individuals can also receive immediate financial assistance under the government’s welfare measures.
