Polish Cyclist Completes 1,390Km Journey To Khunjerab Pass

Polish cyclist Sławomir Strzelczyk has completed an adventurous 1,390-kilometre bicycle journey from Islamabad to Khunjerab Pass. His expedition took him through some of Pakistan’s most scenic mountain regions and historic locations.

The journey aimed to strengthen friendship between Pakistan and Poland. It also sought to promote tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.

The Embassy of Poland in Islamabad shared the achievement on X. Ambassador Maciej Pisarski met Strzelczyk after he successfully completes the challenging cycling expedition.

The ambassador congratulated the cyclist on his achievement. He also praised the journey for highlighting Pakistan-Poland friendship and encouraging tourism.

The Pakistan-Poland Friendship Cycle Expedition 2026 started from Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. The expedition began on July 26 and covered a distance of 1,390 kilometres.

Strzelczyk travelled through several important cities and mountain destinations during the journey. His route included Abbottabad, Besham, Chilas, Gilgit, and Hunza.

The cyclist then continued through Gulmit, Passu, and Sost. His final destination was Khunjerab Pass, one of the world’s highest international border crossings.

The demanding expedition gave Strzelczyk an opportunity to experience Pakistan’s diverse landscapes. The route featured towering mountains, valleys, rivers, and scenic northern areas.

The journey also showcased the country’s rich cultural diversity. Strzelczyk experienced the hospitality of local communities throughout his route.
