The heavy Rainfall also caused water to enter several basements in Islamabad.
According to the available information, some affected basements had already been sealed by the district administration. Teams were deployed to remove accumulated water from affected locations.
De-watering operations are continuing at a rapid pace across impacted areas. The operation is being conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad.
Authorities are working to clear roads and other locations where rainwater has accumulated.
Rescue Operations Underway in D-12/2
Rescue teams are also carrying out operations in Islamabad’s D-12/2 area. The response began after a protective wall collapsed during the severe weather conditions.
However, no loss of life or property has been reported in connection with the incident. Rescue teams remain active in the area as authorities assess conditions following the downpour.
Traffic Slows on Islamabad Roads
The intense weather has also affected traffic movement across parts of the federal capital. Water accumulation has slowed vehicles on several roads, including the Islamabad Expressway.
Traffic police have been deployed to assist motorists and manage congestion in affected locations. Drivers may experience slower traffic while authorities continue clearing water from major roads.
Officials are working to improve traffic flow and reduce disruption caused by waterlogging.
