Eight Muslim nations, including Pakistan, have strongly rejected statements by Israeli ministers about removing Palestinians from Gaza. The countries warned that forced displacement would violate international law.
Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates issued a joint declaration on Sunday. The statement condemned suggestions that Palestinians could be forcibly removed from their homeland.
The countries said any forced eviction would breach international law and fundamental human rights. They also warned that such a move could seriously threaten regional peace and stability.
The declaration came after comments from senior Israeli ministers about plans concerning Gaza’s Palestinian population. The Muslim nations urged Israel not to proceed with any proposal involving forced displacement.
The countries also referred to a US-backed peace plan for Gaza announced in October 2025. They said the proposal was inconsistent with the broader plan presented by US President Donald Trump.
According to the declaration, Trump’s plan clearly rejected efforts to force Palestinians away from their homes. The countries stressed that Gaza remains an inseparable part of occupied Palestine.
They also called for maintaining the territorial unity of Palestinian areas. These areas include Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
The eight countries said a two-state solution remains the only realistic path toward lasting peace. They called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The proposed Palestinian state should be based on the borders that existed before June 1967. East Jerusalem should serve as its capital, according to the declaration.
The Muslim nations also called on the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities. They urged international action to support peace and protect Palestinian rights.
The declaration followed recent comments by Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz. He said Israel had plans to remove Palestinians from Gaza.
Katz said the government was waiting for approval from the United States regarding possible locations for displacement.
Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir later described a broader plan. He said it could involve removing 250,000 Palestinians during the first year.
Ben Gvir also said the remaining population could be relocated over the next six years. Gaza currently has a population of roughly two million people.
However, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee rejected claims of an Israeli plan to forcibly remove Palestinians. He made the comments on Saturday.
The issue has drawn renewed international attention over Gaza’s future. The eight countries maintained that displacement cannot provide a path to lasting regional stability.
