The downpour submerged low-lying areas and created difficulties for residents and motorists. Intermittent power outages were also reported in different sectors.
Strong winds accompanied the rainfall and caused damage at several locations in Islamabad.
A concert stage at the Sports Complex collapsed during the severe weather. The incident occurred as strong winds swept through the area.
In Sector F-10, falling trees damaged vehicles and affected traffic movement. Motorists faced disruption as trees and branches blocked parts of the roads.
Heavy Rain Hits Haripur and Peshawar
The severe weather was not limited to Islamabad. Haripur also received Rain accompanied by strong winds.
Two people were injured after a tree fell in the Paniya area. Water also accumulated on roads across different parts of Haripur.
Meanwhile, rainfall brought relief from intense heat in Peshawar. The city had been experiencing hot weather before the showers arrived.
Temperatures became more comfortable following the rainfall, providing relief to residents.
Torrential Rain Causes Disruption in Batkhela
Batkhela also experienced torrential rainfall with thunder and lightning.
The heavy downpour caused streams and drains to swell. The weather conditions also disrupted the local power transmission system.
Residents faced difficulties as water levels increased in different locations.
Heavy rainfall was also recorded in Swabi. Several low-lying areas were inundated following the downpour.
Water accumulation caused problems for residents and affected movement in some areas.
More Rain Forecast Until September 17
The Meteorological Department has forecast further Rain across several parts of Pakistan until September 17.
Rainfall is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the forecast period.
The latest weather spell could bring additional showers to areas already affected by recent rainfall.
However, weather conditions are expected to remain different in southern parts of the country.
Hot and humid conditions are likely to continue across Sindh and Balochistan.
