Capcom has announced three more Resident Evil games for the Nintendo Switch 2. The remakes announced by the publisher will arrive in October.
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will launch on October 16. All three titles will be released digitally.
The games will also include previously released downloadable content. This gives Switch 2 players access to expanded versions of the popular horror titles.
The remakes announced by Capcom mark another major addition to the Resident Evil lineup on Nintendo’s latest console. The publisher is expanding its support for the Switch 2.
Nintendo Switch players previously had limited access to newer Resident Evil games. Capcom released older titles such as Resident Evil 0 on the original console.
Several newer blockbuster entries were not released natively on the original Switch. Instead, Capcom offered cloud versions of some games.
Those cloud editions required a stable internet connection. This created challenges for players who wanted to enjoy the games while traveling.
The Switch 2 now provides more powerful hardware for native releases. Players can run the games directly instead of relying on cloud streaming.
Native versions can also avoid streaming-related delays and connection problems. This makes the games more suitable for the portable nature of Nintendo’s platform.
The October releases will join an expanding Resident Evil lineup on Switch 2. Resident Evil Requiem is already available on the platform.
Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition are also available. The releases give Nintendo players access to several modern entries.
Capcom is also offering discounts for players who pre-order the new games. Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition currently has a 25 percent discount.
Resident Evil 3 is available with a 34 percent price reduction. Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition is receiving a 20 percent discount.
The promotional prices will remain available through November 7. The discounts are being offered through Nintendo’s eShop.
Physical editions are also planned for a later date. Capcom is expected to release Game-Key Card versions in January 2027.
However, the company has not confirmed physical releases for North America. More information about regional availability is expected later.
The Resident Evil 2 remake has enjoyed major commercial success since its 2019 release. It recently became the best-selling title in the franchise.
Its arrival on Switch 2 could introduce the game to another audience. Players will be able to experience the remake through a native version.
The remakes announced for Switch 2 are part of Capcom’s broader support for Nintendo’s platform. The company has already confirmed another Resident Evil project for 2027.
Resident Evil: Veronica is scheduled to launch on Switch 2. It will reportedly arrive on the same day as other platform versions.
Capcom is expected to reveal more information about its release date soon. The publisher has not yet provided a complete schedule for future content.
There are also reports about potential story content for Resident Evil Requiem. However, details about that rumored DLC have not been officially confirmed.
With several major releases planned, Capcom’s Resident Evil support for Switch 2 continues to expand. The October lineup will add three more games to the growing collection.
